Capital City Ball Hockey League (CCBHL) is Ottawa's most exclusive invite-only ball hockey league. We play one night only - in Barrhaven on Tuesdays. We value fun, teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship.

In our first matchup of the night we had the second place Capital City Lions looking to jump into a first place tie with Original Four, while Gen X Eagles were still looking for their first win. CCL was very happy to have their rugged veteran Steve Quach back in nets and he certainly didn't disappoint. On the other side we had Marty Leury who has been peppered throughout the season and that didn't change tonight. Right off the opening faceoff the ball ends up on the stick of GENX's Patty Dunnigan behind his own net and while looking for the breakout pass he puts it right off Brock Murray's foot and into the net. GENX had some newcomers to their team including the legendary, always-smiling Bruce Boivin and Michelle Heggison. Fast forward halfway through the first Nicky Soucy scores a beauty on Leury. Tons of back and forth action and both teams looked very solid on this night. CCL outshot GENX 31-18 in the first and both Quach and Leury each made some fantastic saves. The period ends with CCL holding a slim 2-0 margin.

A few minutes into the second period young gun Austin Perron finally gets on the board by coming from behind the net and absolute blasting it top shelf after receiving a great pass from the ever-improving and always-kind Faith Murray, who had another strong showing on this night. Four minutes later off a scramble in front of CCL's net, Elise Berthiaume takes a shot which makes its way through the traffic, off the post and in to make it 3-1 CCL. The next ten minutes saw a ton of chances for both teams, including a great penalty kill by CCL's Perron and Amanda Murray. With only two minutes on the clock Perron nets his second of the game top glove on Leury to make it 4-1. With only 38 seconds left, Dunnigan erases his earlier blooper with a nice goal down low to pull within 2. That was all she wrote as the game ends in a 4-2 CCL victory with the shots 45-36 in favour of the Lions.

Our second game saw Perrigo's Peeps and Buzzkills fighting for third place in the standings as each team held a 1-2 record on the season. This would be the first time the teams matchup in CCBHL history. We saw a lot of spares suiting up for this one including Steve Quach in nets for PP, while BEAST MODE Andrew Stephens and Devin McManus were in for BUZZ. The game started off with lots of action including a high amount of shots on each goalie and both Quach and Jeff Squires were up to the task. The first action was a high sticking penalty on Nicky Soucy but PP was unable to capatilize on the opportunity. It took over 16 minutes of action before we saw our first goal, a gorgeous snipe by the rock-solid Elysia Desmier who has been lighting it up with an astonishing 11 points in her last two games. Before the period ended the always-beautiful Jason Perrigo snipes two unassisted markers in 18 seconds to make this a 3-0 PP game with the shots a very close 25-22 PP.

In the second PP continued the goal scoring with a quick one from speedster Cole Dashnay and two more from Perrigo who finished with a very impressive 5 goals on the night. Annalisa Mazzarello pots her first of the game off a beauty pass from Desmier and it's suddenly 7-0 PP with lots of time on the clock. Shortly thereafter Mazzarello takes a high sticking penalty and BUZZ blueliner Kevin Cook makes them pay with a solid goal to get BUZZ on the board. Captain beautiful was having none of it and sniped his fifth of the game off Desmier's fourth dish. With less than 5 to go steady-Devy pots a beauty off a nice feed from Alex Rogozynski who has been improving steadily over the past few seasons and is starting to look like a new man. With only 36 seconds left Desmier makes this one 9-2 and this is how it will end as the shots were 49-43 PP. They pull ahead in the standings as their record improves to 2-2 and BUZZ falls to 1-3 and sit in second last place.
